News from the Pews April 24
SERVICES this coming Sunday in Tadley and the Pamber Heath area include morning prayer at St Paul's, The Green, Tadley, at 9.30am; family communion at St Luke's, Church Road, Pamber Heath, at 11am; and Holy Communion, at St Peter's, Church Road, Tadley, at 6pm.
ON SATURDAY, there will be a quiet day at St Paul's, Tadley, from 10am to 4pm.
The theme of the day is "Be still and know that I am God".
Everyone is welcome at any time during the day and you can spend time reflecting at candlelit points around the church.
The Bishop of Basingstoke, the Right Reverend Trevor Willmott, hopes to spend some part of the day sharing with everyone.
There will be a short act of worship at 10am and Celtic Communion at 3.30pm.
Refreshments will be available.
THERE will be a Diocesan Day of Prayer at St Michael's, Basingstoke, on Saturday, when everyone is invited to unite in prayer for our diocese and its mission.
There will be short times of prayer, from 8am to noon.
The themes for these prayers include "A Missionary Community" at 8am, "A Generous Community" at 9am, "A Compassionate Community" at 10am, "A Learning Community" at 11am, and "An Expectant Community" at noon.
The prayers will take place in St Stephen's Chapel.
St Michael's offers a haven of peace for those making use of the town centre. Why not come and spend a little time there during your busy day?
ASCENSION Day is on May 1, and there will be a service at St James', Bramley, at 8pm. Everyone is welcome.
THERE is a coffee morning at Oakley Methodist Church every Tuesday, from 10am to noon, where you can have a bottomless cup of tea or coffee and some biscuits for 50p. All proceeds go to charity.
