Two burglars pretended to be delivery workers when they were confronted by the occupants of a property in Well End on Wednesday last week.
The men sneaked into the property at around 3.30pm, through an unlocked door, and were stopped by an elderly couple who were living there.
The burglars asked the couple if they wanted any deliveries and, after being told to leave, one of them took a purse containing £10 off a table.
One was described as white, short, with blond, curly hair, and he wore a black or dark-coloured leather jacket. The other was taller, white and aged in his 30s.
