2:24pm Tuesday 9th October 2012 in Local By Chris Gregory
A MAN pushed a woman in the face after asking to enter her Basingstoke home.
The suspicious incident took place at 4.15pm on Monday, October 8, after the man knocked on the front door of a house in Chantry Mews, Hatch Warren.
He asked the 26-year-old woman who answered the door if he could use her phone. When she refused, he pushed her and wiped a substance which smelt like a mentholated ointment on her face.
The woman managed to shut the door and he left.
PC Stuart Bond said: “This was an isolated incident which was very frightening for the woman involved.”
The man is described as white, aged between 26 and 30, and of slim build. He wore a dark grey hooded sports jacket and old trainers, possibly Reebok Classics.
Anyone with information can contact PC Bond at Basingstoke police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
