YOUNG riders from a north Hampshire school showed off their skills at a recent equestrian event to fellow pupils and staff.

The Clere School Equestrian Team, which began in 2008 with only two riders, has gone from strength to strength.

They now have 10 keen young horse-riders who showed off their skills in a display at the school, in Earlstone Common, Burghclere.

The club are trained by Olympian Samantha Albert, who competed for the Jamaican Equestrian team in the 2012 Olympics, and are managed by Vicki Kyle-Lawrence.

At the school event, which was held to celebrate the London Olympics, the horses and their riders showed off their jumping prowess.

All pupils in years seven, eight and nine watched the riders, along with a few horse-mad students from years 10 and 11 and children from Burghclere Primary School.
