Basingstoke firefighters help tackle three-day blaze in Southampton

FIREFIGHTERS from Basingstoke were last night called to help tackle a blaze at a recycling plant in Southampton.
The fire off Hazel Road on the Itchen riverside in Southampton has been burning since Friday morning, when piles of domestic waste were on fire.
Although the fire is now under control, crews from Hampshire may have to remain at the scene for several days to stop it re-igniting.
