AN Old Basing pub has held its first-ever beer festival.
The event, which manager Fallon Sherfield hopes will be the first of many annual festivals, attracted hundreds of people to The Crown – and they were keen to sample the ales and cider on offer.
The pub, in The Street, had eight different ales from around the country on offer at the event.
Barmaid Rachel Still, who is also a musician, provided some live musical entertainment, performing some of her own material.
And chefs Chris Barnes and Tom Wilson, who work at the pub, cooked up a barbecue for the many hungry guests sampling the drinks.
Fallon, who has managed the pub for a year, said: “It was our first-ever beer festival and I’m sure it won’t be our last.
“We had some really positive feedback from people who came along and it’s definitely something we hope to do again next August bank holiday.
“The atmosphere was fantastic and everybody seemed to be really enjoying themselves.”
