Road improvements set for Whitchurch
3:22pm Thursday 13th September 2012 in Local By Emily Roberts, Chief Reporter
HIGHWAY improvements costing £150,000 have been drawn up for Whitchurch, following a four-year wait.
Although residents were consulted on what should be done to improve the streets and roads in 2008, little has been done since.
Nonetheless, Simon Found, from Hampshire County Council , presented plans to Whitchurch Town Council about how the developer contribution money will be spent.
The improvements include installing dropped kerbs to create better access for disabled people and pushchairs; reducing speed limits; and creating concrete grids, known as Grasscretes, with grass growing in the gaps to replace grass verges damaged by vehicles driving on them.
Mr Found said all the improvements could be carried out within the £150,000 budget.
