South East Water holds metering drop-in sessions

WATER company South East Water is to hold information drop-in sessions for its customers in Old Basing and Chineham to find out more about its metering programme.

The extensive and compulsory meter-installation scheme is due to reach them this month.

The drop in sessions will take place at St Mary’s Church, Old Basing on Wednesday, September 5 from 4pm to 6pm and at Chineham village hall, Thornhill Way on Wednesday, September 12 between 3.45 and 5.45 pm.

Charles Healey, metering manager at South East Water said: “The customer metering programme forms a key part of our plan to manage future demand for water for our 2.1 million customers. It’s important that our customers are aware of the forthcoming changes to the way they pay for their water.

“All members of the local community are welcome to pop in, have a cup of tea, and find out more about the work we will be carrying out.”

The Customer Metering Programme is installing compulsory water meters across south east England. The programme started in Oakley last summer and work will begin in Old Basing and Chineham in September, later moving to Bramley in autumn.
