Gowrings Basingstoke hit by thieves

THIEVES have made off with 20 brand-new spare wheels from a Ford dealership in Basingstoke.
The theft occurred between 11.45pm and 11.55pm on Sunday, August 19 at Gowrings Ford in Aldermaston Road .
Three people stole spare wheels from Ford Transit vans parked on the forecourt. The stolen property and the damage caused by the thieves is valued at more than £5,500.
One of the suspects is described as: • white • with dark hair • 5ft 10ins to 6ft 2ins • of medium build • wearing a blue vest with reflective silver mark on the rear and a dark-coloured Adidas style tracksuit trousers and a patterned flat cap.
The remaining suspects were both wearing hooded tops.
PC David Sacree from Basingstoke police station said: “As a result of this incident Gowrings Ford have significantly updated their security at the premises.
“I would like to hear from anyone who has information about this incident.
“Despite the time of day there were a number of people using the BP garage opposite the location which the suspects would have parked their vehicle.
“I would specifically like to speak to the driver of a dark coloured VW Passat estate vehicle which was seen in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the incident.”
