Basing View roof stripped of metal

BURGLARS stole thousands of pounds worth of metal from the roof of a Basingstoke office block.

The theft took place between 5pm on Friday, August 3 and Tuesday, August 7 at the empty Grosvenor House, in Basing View.

Hampshire Constabulary ’s major crime unit and the county court moved out of the building last year.

PC Michael Higgins, of Basingstoke police, said: “It is likely to have taken a number of hours to move this amount of metal, so people may have seen something suspicious in the Basing View area. Dog walkers who use the area as a shortcut to get to Eastrop Park may have seen something which could help this investigation.”

Anyone with information can contact PC Higgins on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
