Whisky needs new home
CATS Protection Basingstoke and District Branch is currently caring for more than 20 cats, and looking for loving homes locally.
One of the cats looking for a new home is Whisky, a really friendly six-year-old tabby. He came to the branch in March when his owners moved house, as he didn’t like the dog next door.
He loves a cuddle and will roll on his back to have his tummy tickled and he loves company. He is happy with adults and children and just needs a new home with a nice garden so that he can get some exercise after being cooped up in his cat cabin. Meanwhile, the branch will host their summer fair at Chineham Village Hall at the weekend.
As well as a variety of gift stalls to appeal to all ages, visitors can treat themselves to some of the home-made cakes and biscuits from the bake sale, buy raffle tickets to win a range of fabulous prizes and purchase refreshments throughout the afternoon. It promises to be a fun-filled afternoon for all the family.
Hilary Wells, branch co-ordinator, said: “The fair is a great opportunity to have some fun whilst supporting the charity which finds new homes for the many unwanted and abandoned cats that come into its care. “Entry costs 50p or a donation of a tin of cat food, so please come along and give us your support.”
The fair will run from midday until 4pm on Saturday, in the hall, at Thornhill Way. n To find out more about the fair, or to offer a cat a home, call 0845 177 1364, email adoptacat-basingstoke@ hotmail.co.uk or visit the website basingstoke.cats.org.uk.
