Man from Chineham, Basingstoke, faces sex offence charges

A CHINEHAM man has been charged with rape.

Paul Kent, of Maybrook, Chineham, Basingstoke, has been charged with three counts of rape and one count of harassment.

The 36-year-old appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court sitting at Winchester Crown Court today and was remanded in custody. He is next due to appear at Winchester Crown Court on August 3, for a preliminary hearing.

Detective Constable Craig Ferguson, of Basingstoke CID, said: “These charges are in relation to a number of incidents involving the same victim. Our investigation into the circumstances surrounding these incidents, continues.

“If you have any information which may assist this investigation, please contact me as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should call the police on 101.
