THIS lucky grandmother is celebrating after winning £100,000 playing bingo online.

Sue Fox, 55, from Sherfield-on-Loddon beat 15,500 other players to win the jackpot on the Costa Bingo birthday promotion.

The grandmother-of-six did not watch the online game and was celebrating her grandson’s 13th birthday in The White Hart, off the A33 Reading Road, when she was told.

She said: “I could not believe it at first because I had checked my bank balance that day and it had not gone up. So I went on to the website and went on to one of the chatrooms. When I asked who had won, they said it was me.

“I was amazed. People like me do not win this kind of money. You hear about people who have won big but you do not know anyone who has. I still don’t think it’s real.”

Mrs Fox, an admin worker, plans to spend the money on a new car and a trip to Australia with her husband Pete to see their son.

The jackpot was part of the website’s third birthday celebrations and is only the second time it has had such a big prize.

Mrs Fox said she spends £20 a month on the website since she started playing nine months ago, and has been joined on the website by her two daughters. Her only other victory came last month when she won £750.

The mother-of-three said: “The news still hasn’t really sunk in. The first thing I must do is buy a new car as my one is on its last legs so the money couldn’t have come at a better time, but apart from that I am just going to enjoy the moment and have a little party with my friends to celebrate.”
