OctoberFest organisers want record
6:00pm Friday 6th July 2012 in Local By Simon Moss
TICKETS are now on sale for a major Basingstoke event.
The Hampshire OctoberFest will return to Milestones Museum, at Basingstoke Leisure Park, on October 13 and 14 and organisers are hoping to break yet another attendance record.
More than 7,000 people attended last year’s family-friendly event, which mixes family activities such as fairground rides and entertainment with some of Hampshire’s finest tipples.
The popular Works Night Out, giving businesses in the area a chance to enjoy live music and fine beers, will return on Friday, October 12.
Ian Smith, director of Hampshire Museums and Galleries Trust, said: “In 2010, we welcomed 5,000 visitors and in 2011 that rose to 7,500, albeit the good weather did help.
“This year, there is no reason why those numbers shouldn’t rise again, especially with the good reviews we have received on Facebook and Twitter.”
The full programme of activities and ticket prices can be viewed online at hantsmustrust.org/ octoberfest.
