Plan for houses near Basingstoke defeated

A PLAN to build 450 houses north of Marnel Park in Basingstoke was thrown out by borough councillors last night.

But another more detailed set of plans for a smaller development of 200 houses on the same site remains to be decided. Members of the development control committee ran out of time last night and will consider the application at another meeting, probably in August.

Both sets of plans were put forward by David Wilson Homes Southern.
