A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a car hit a pedestrian this afternoon.
Police have closed London Road following the accident at the junction of London Road and New Road in Basingstoke.
An air ambulance landed at the junction of New Road but was not needed.
The injured man is being taken instead by road ambulance to Basingstoke hospital in Aldermaston Road with potentially life-threatening injuries.
Police were called to the scene at 1.22pm, and were redirecting traffic from Eastrop Roundabout.
