A NORTH Hampshire town is celebrating after securing faster broadband having emerged triumphant in a nationwide competition.

Following weeks of campaigning, Whitchurch learned today (Monday) that it has won BT’s Race to Infinity.

BT pledged to give the five place in the UK that achieve the highest percentage of votes, superfast internet access.

But, after a close-fought competition involving thousands of entrants, BT has said six areas will benefit from the improvements.
