DINING the old-fashioned way was on the menu when Cliddesden Primary School held a Victorian lunch to celebrate the school's 130th birthday.
Pupils sampled a traditional dish of toad-in-the-hole, as it would have been served more than a century ago when the school first opened.
Headteacher Mandy Harrison said: "The day was organised to celebrate the school's anniversary and fascinating history.
"Year 4 and 5 pupils dressed as Victorian schoolchildren and experienced a Victorian school day under the strict tutelage of teacher Keith Graham."
Basingstoke MP Maria Miller also visited the school to officially open its new extension, before joining the pupils for lunch.
The extension includes an enlarged reception area, increased administration and office space, and a staff room, which doubles up as a small teaching room.
Mrs Miller said: "I am delighted to see a traditional small school environment able to flourish in this way and congratulate the school on its recent Ofsted success."
