DRUG dealers were the target of a police operation in Basingstoke and north Hampshire last week.
A total of 29 people were arrested in the Basingstoke and Rushmoor areas during Operation Ridings, which took place between Wednesday, March 17 and Friday, March 19.
More than 80 officers from Hampshire Constabulary were involved on each day of the operation.
Officers made arrests for drugs and motoring offences, searched 64 people and seized 24 vehicles.
Chief Inspector Andy Bottomley, Basingstoke and Deane District Commander, said: “It is part of our ongoing commitment to carry out robust action against drug dealers and their suppliers who may be coming into the area to commit crime.
“We are showing them that this is an area where they can expect to be pursued, located and arrested if they do come here to supply drugs.”
