IT WAS one of the highlights of the Basingstoke Festival – and now people who were turned into real-life pieces of art by French street artists can download their snapshot from the event.

Les Cubitenistes used wacky props and frames with a combination of performance, art and photographer to create humorous portraits of people at Top of The Town during the three-week long festival last month.

Their professional prints are now available to view and download online, and are also on display at The Willis Museum, in Top of The Town, Basingstoke.

Councillor Cathy Osselton, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s cabinet member for partnerships, said: “It was great to have Les Cubitenistes in Basingstoke as part of the festival.

“This creative group really encouraged members of the public to take part in their project and it’s fantastic that they now have the chance to take a memory of this home in the form of a print.”
