18 schools in the borough are fully or partially closed
A NUMBER of schools have closed their doors today as teachers take strike action.
18 schools across the borough are closed or partially shut because of today’s protest, organised by the National Union of Teachers and NASUWT.
Teachers are protesting against the Government’s education reforms, condition, pensions and pay.
Among those schools fully closed are the Costello School and Cranbourne Business and Enterprise College, although both are inviting Year 11 students into school.
Hurst Community College and the Vyne Commuity School are also shut, but pupils at the latter school will be able to access work online from home.
The Ashwood Centre, Grangeside School, Kempshott Junior School, Kings Furlong Junior School and Hatch Warren Junior School are also fully closed, as is Merton Junior School, Oakley CofE Junior School and Saxon Wood School.
Bishop Challoner School is partially closed, as is Limington House School, Four Lanes Community Junior School, Testbourne Community School, St Mary’s CofE Junior School and Winklebuy Junior School.
