Man flees flat fire in Bramley
A MAN escaped from a burning flat after his dog alerted him to the fire.
The occupant, in his 20s, was woken by his pet in the middle of the night and managed to flee his home in Officers Row, Bramley.
Ten firefighters in two engines were called to the incident at 2.48am this morning where the hallway of the ground floor flat, which is in a block of four, was on fire.
Watch manager John Amos, from Basingstoke fire station, said the hallway was completely destroyed by the fire.
He added that the cause is not yet known, but it is being investigated.
No one was injured in the fire, and the owners of the adjoining flat were away on holiday.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 6am.
