Buffalo calves at Laverstoke Park Farm officially named by four-year-old
TWO buffalo calves at a farm near Overton have been officially named – and they have a four-year-old boy to thank for coming up with their identities.
Laverstoke Park Farm ran a competition for visitors to its farm shop to name the buffalo, and Harry Smeeton was announced as the winner out of 80 entries.
The four-year-old, from Eastbourne, was invited to the farm with his family to collect his certificate and went on a tour of the farm to see the young buffalo, now named Scarlet and Bella.
Following the tour, Harry and his family enjoyed a Laverstoke picnic. Scarlet and Bella will now be at Laverstoke for farm shop visitors to meet.
