“We are conducting many lines of enquiry as our investigation into Stephan’s murder continues, and a key part of this is to locate the knife and a jumper. “Do you use this route? Have you seen anything discarded? Has anything been put in your bins? If you find anything, please don’t touch it but call the police immediately on 101.”

Anyone who uses these routes or visits countryside between Buckskin and North Waltham is asked to contact police if they find a discarded knife or jumper, or saw anything suspicious on Monday morning.

Detectives are also searching for clothing which is described as a dark coloured sweatshirt with a gold or yellow Nike emblem; dark trousers (jeans or tracksuit bottoms) and dark trainers.

The knife used in the murder of Steph Hollow has still not been recovered. Police are asking the public for help in locating it. They believe the attacker travelled on foot from Blackdown Close to Berwyn Close, on to Dorset Crescent and then through fields to Mary Lane in North Waltham.

Floral tributes, messages and teddy bears have been left near the scene of the incident.  Messages describe Steph Hollow as a "wonderful man" who was "taken too soon".

Howard Simpson, a consultant in emergency medicine at Basingstoke hospital, performed open chest surgery on the victim of the fatal stabbing in Buckskin.
He was contacted by South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) control room at 4.30am today to Blackdown Close.
Dr Simpson is one of a dozen emergency specialists who volunteer to respond to critically ill and injured people in Hampshire in the vital moments before they reach hospital.
With the support of paramedics from SCAS he performed open chest surgery in an attempt to save the man, who later died in hospital.

A resident of Dorset Crescent said: “The road was completely full of police cars. We saw police officers wearing body armour, with pistols in holsters and carrying rifles. They surrounded the house and later went searching in nearby cornfields.”
She said forensic officers have been taking pictures inside and outside the property.

ARMED police are reported to have swooped on an address in Dorset Crescent in the estate off Old Kempshott Lane this morning.
The raid, on the edge of Buckskin, was witnessed by neighbours at about 6.30am and a woman and a young man left with officers. Police remain at the scene.

Police have now confirmed that a second man was injured during the Buckskin stabbing. The 22-year-old suffered an injury to his face, although it is not known how this happened. He was not taken to hospital.

TRIBUTES have been left on Facebook to a man named as Steph Hollow, who is believed to be the victim of the fatal stabbing in Buckskin in the early hours of this morning.

A woman who knew the victim said he was a mechanic. She told The Gazette: "He was a nice guy, he loved his cars."

The family of the victim are yet to identify his body.

Police have confirmed that stabbing took place outside in the street, in Blackdown Close, Buckskin.

One young woman from Buckskin who knew the victim, said: “His family are grieving. They are in shock.”

Another bystander who knew the victim a little, said: “He seemed like a nice guy. He would always have a chat with you. I never heard him say a bad word about anybody. I cannot believe that this sort of thing has happened. It seems so pointless.”

One Mendip Close resident said: “I was woken up by police sirens. I didn’t know what was going on but I could not believe it when I heard that someone had been killed.  Despite what people say, you don’t expect this sort of thing to happen in Buckskin.”
