VILLAGERS in Pamber Heath raised vital funds for a hall with their annual summer fete.
Attractions at Pamber Heath Memorial Hall, in Pamber Heath Road, included arts and crafts competitions, a tombola, a cake stall and refreshments.
There was also a fire engine from AWE Aldermaston, a display from the Basingstoke Wolverines cheerleaders, and a raffle where the top prize was a hot air balloon ride, donated by Toucan Travel.
Dorothy Oakley, chairman of the hall management committee, said that money raised on the day will go towards the upkeep of the building.
She said: “We look after the hall, so that includes repairs, running costs and we’ve just had an extension done for our serving hatch.
“The day has been very busy and people are supporting us quite well.”
Retired couple Mike and Cath Farrow, who live next door to the hall, said: “We are pleased that it is such a lovely day because this event has often been hit by bad weather.”
