A MAN who died when the car in which he was travelling left the road, has been named by police.

He was 25-year-old John Stow, from Aldershot. Mr Stow was a landscape gardener and was engaged to be married.

The silver Peugeot 206 in which he was travelling, was heading east on a rural stretch of the Aldershot Road around 11.05pm on Wednesday, June 26, when it left the carriageway at Church Crookham. The vehicle overturned and came to rest in a ditch.

Mr Stow was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a 25-year-old woman, and a second passenger, a 22-year-old man, both from Aldershot, suffered minor injuries and were treated at Frimley Park Hospital.

The road was closed for approximately six hours to allow for recovery and investigation of the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact Acting Inspector Darren Ord at the Eastleigh Road Death Investigation team, quoting Operation Glucose, on 101.
