THE beautiful grounds of Highclere Castle will be the setting for a special fundraising challenge next month.

The castle, where popular ITV period drama Downton Abbey is filmed, will host a special 10k run for charity on Sunday April 28.

The runners taking part in Run Highclere will be raising cash for charity Parkinson’s UK.

Tony Kingham, 39, from Basingstoke will be running in memory of his father Tom Kingham who suffered from Parkinson’s and died in 2007 at the age of 64.

Mr Kingham said: “I’m looking forward to running alongside like-minded people and being part of such a great charity.”

Paul Jackson-Clark, director of fundraising at the charity, said: “Taking part in Run Highclere is a fantastic way to raise vital funds to support our work.”

For more information email events@parkinsons.org.uk.

There is no minimum sponsorship required to take part, but runners are asked to aim to raise £100. The adults’ event starts at 11am.
