A TOWN centre nightspot has closed for “redecoration and upgrading works”.

Zeus, in Winchester Street, closed to customers last weekend, just four months after opening.

Owner Stuart Harris told The Gazette that Zeus will reopen on Friday, March 29 with a new look.

He said: “It is closed for two weeks for some urgently needed redecoration and upgrading works.

“These were always needed following our rather rushed opening back in November last year. We have chosen this quiet period to conduct this work ahead of the Easter break.”

Mr Harris, who was the landlord at The New Inn in Sarum Hill for seven years, previously told The Gazette he has invested £320,000 in redeveloping the former Caffe Piccolo venue.

The ground floor bar opened in November, but Mr Harris said he was having a re-think about the upstairs bar, and will have designers and architects on site next week.
