THE MAGIC of storytelling was brought to life at a Hook school.

Children’s author Andrew Weale, whose work includes Dinosaur Doo and Spooky, Spooky House, visited the pupils at Hook Infant School on two days last week. He held workshops with each class at the school in Church View, and signed books and posed for photographs.

Jayne Purdue, the school’s business manager, said: “He talked to them about reading, writing and illustrators.

“The children enjoyed it, a lot of them had their books signed and they had a great time. They were asking lots of questions and he was really good with them.”

The event was part of the school’s National Book Week celebrations. Last Friday, children came to the school dressed as monsters, taking inspiration from Mr Weale’s Spooky, Spooky House.
