POLICE are looking for a driver who failed to stop after a crash in which a Hampshire teenage girl died.
The smash took place on the evening of Sunday, February 24 on the westbound carriageway of the A31, on the Hampshire/Dorset border.
Jade Clark, a 16-year-old girl from Ringwood, who was riding a red scooter at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dorset Police has appealed to people in Hampshire in a bid to trace one of the vehicles involved in the crash – a Volvo XC90.
Traffic inspector Matt Butler said this car left the scene before police officers arrived.
He said: “I need to trace this vehicle and urge anyone with information to contact me. I particularly appeal to the driver to get in touch.
“The front of the vehicle will be damaged. If anyone is aware of a Volvo XC90 which has sustained damage or has been repaired in the last few days, they should call police urgently.”
Officers have released a picture of a car similar to the one they are looking for.
