AN 89-YEAR-OLD fan was thrilled to meet two of the stars of the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing.
Connie Hall chatted to Anton du Beke and Erin Boag following their show Anton and Erin go to Hollywood at The Anvil on January 31. The pensioner, from Oakley, was given tickets to watch the performance by her son Godfrey, and was accompanied by his wife, Sue. To her surprise, her son had also arranged for her to meet the dancers backstage after the show.
She said: “My son knows that I’m an absolutely mad fan of Strictly Come Dancing and would cancel going out anywhere to be at home to watch it on TV, and it was a dream to be able to see the dancing live.”
She added: “It was quite a shock to meet Anton and Erin. Anton is a treasure. He is so versatile – he’s unbelievable. He’s funny and has such a wonderful personality.
“I said to him he would make the perfect replacement for Bruce Forsyth in Strictly Come Dancing.”
