OVERTON railway station could be given a new ticket office.
Network Rail has applied to the borough council for permission to install the office at the station in Station Hill.
There is currently a small cabin at the station which is manned from 7am to 9.20am Mondays to Fridays.
It has not yet been decided for what hours the new office would be manned, but the new office would be a “compact station office” of concrete slab with overhanging eaves.
A spokesman for the Network Rail and South West Trains Alliance said: “We are proposing to create a more permanent facility at Overton station which will provide passengers with a better experience when buying tickets.
“The same provision for buying tickets will be available but in a better environment.”
