SOUTH East Water is celebrating a major milestone as the New Year begins- having installed a total of 60,000 water meters.
Charles Healey, metering manager at South East Water, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating our 60,000th meter installation as we move into the New Year.
Metering is the fairest way for customers to pay as they only pay for the water that they use.”
In total, more than 375,000 water meters will be installed over the next eight years for customers who do not already have one. Currently more than half- around 51 per cent- of the company’s customers are on a meter.
The programme is currently metering the outskirts of Basingstoke before moving to Hook in the New Year and customers will receive information through the post in advance of their meter being installed.
