A SCHOOLBOY was the star pupil with his friends after he won a competition to design the ultimate James Bond car – and won his classmates a great day out in the process.

Eight-year-old Jordan Lewis, above, a pupil at Merton Junior School, in Popley, Basingstoke, was the lucky winner of the Design Your Dream Bond Car.

The competition, run by The Gazette and the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, was judged by James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore.

The 85-year-old, who appeared in such classics as Moonraker and The Man with the Golden Gun, said: “I was delighted with the imaginative entries.

“It was a hard job to choose the winners when the standard was so high but I've picked the cars I'd have most liked to drive.”

Some of the cars included umbrella guns, hover pads, night-vision cameras and under-water wheel turbines.

As his prize, Jordan visited the Beaulieu museum with his classmates, below. They looked at the museum's Bond In Motion exhibition, which displays around 50 iconic Bond cars.

These include the Lotus S1 ‘submarine’ car driven by Sir Roger Moore in The Spy Who Loved Me.

Other cars on display were the Aston Martin Vanquish from Die Another Day, two Honda motorbikes from Skyfall, and the Aston Martin V8 Volante from The Living Daylights.
