Police reminder to motorists ahead of rainfall

First published in News by , Senior Reporter

HEAVY rainfall forecast for Hampshire tonight has led to police advice for motorists.

The Met Office anticipates the heaviest rainfall will be between 11pm tonight and 6am tomorrow. Further heavy rain is also forecast for the weekend.

Chief Inspector Duncan Weston said: “The heavy rainfall will most likely lead to surface water on the roads. Couple with a busy weekend of last-minute Christmas shopping, this may produce difficult driving conditions.

“The most important piece of advice is to plan ahead and give yourself more time for your journey.”
