THIEVES made off with thousands of pounds from a Basingstoke coffee shop yesterday.
Detectives at Basingstoke say that between midnight and 1am yesterday, burglars entered the Costa Coffee shop in Chineham Shopping Centre, by a rear fire door. They broke into the safe, and it is believed a few thousand pounds were taken.
The break-in was discovered by a delivery driver who arrived at the shop to find the rear door open and the alarm sounding.
Basingstoke Detective Constable Neal Williams is appealing for information from anyone who may have seen a suspicious vehicle or who has heard who might have been responsible for the raid.
Anyone who has information regarding this burglary is asked to contact Basingstoke CID on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity line on 0800 555 111.
