Police enquiry begins after 'sad death' at Basingstoke hospital

A POLICE enquiry has begun following the death of a patient at Basingstoke hospital.
The incident took place earlier this morning. The hospital has confirmed the death but has not said how the person died or revealed the patient's identity.
A statement from the hospital read: “Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is cooperating with a police enquiry following the sad death of a patient at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital earlier this morning.
“We offer our heartfelt condolences to the patient’s family at this very sad time.”
