A PLANE’S landing gear collapsed shortly after it landed at Lasham Airfield.

The incident took place at 12.20pm on Thursday, August 23, when the 77-year-old pilot tried to land his 1967 Fournier motorglider.

The aircraft landed normally on the grass landing area, but then hit the ground, causing damage to the propeller. No injuries were reported.

A report by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch said the plane’s landing gear latch lever was worn down.
