A MAN has been charged with dangerous driving after a pedestrian was knocked down, suffering serious injuries.
A 56-year-old man was crossing New Road in Basingstoke, near the junction with London Road, when he was hit by a BMW car on April 25 this year.
He was taken to Basingstoke hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, spent five weeks in hospital and is now continuing to recover at home.
Christopher Neil Whitehorn of Hill View Road, South Ham, Basingstoke has been charged by police investigating the collision, with dangerous driving, driving without insurance and fraud by false representation, for which the 26-year-old is accused of failing to disclose information in the course of obtaining motor insurance.
He was bailed to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on November 20.
