THE family of a Tadley man who died when his car hit a tree said he will be “dearly missed.”

Philip Keefe was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash when the green MG ZS he was driving crashed in Baughurst Road, near to the junction with Rectory Road in Padworth Common, Reading at 6.45am last Thursday.

The 38-year-old’s father and two brothers released a statement and asked to mourn in private.

They said: “In his early teens Philip was fascinated by the exploits of Donald Campbell. He went to Presentation Contact in Reading and then to Loughborough University where he graduated in aeronautical engineering in 1996.

“He worked for Kodak as an operational maintenance engineer on photo processing then in 2006 joined Emerson Group in Slough as a calibration engineer on measuring equipment dedicated to the petro-chemical industry.

“Philip will be dearly missed by his father Arthur (Tom) and his two brothers.”

Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash. Anyone with information should contact investigating officer Lewis McQueen, of the Joint Roads Policing Unit on 101.
