MUD puddles and scramble nets are going to be in the path of a Basingstoke man as he takes on a fundraising challenge.
Martin Potts, pictured, is preparing to take part in Grim 8 at the Army vehicle testing tracks in Aldershot on December 1, which will include taking on hill climbs, a water- filled ravine, camouflaged netting and man-made mounds.
The 25-year-old, who works as a telephone support executive for Unum, in Basing View, will raise money for St Michael’s Hospice, in Basingstoke, for which his company has been fundraising during the last year.
He said: “This will push me much further physically than I have ever been before. I haven’t been the most active of people so to suddenly be swimming four times a week, running three times a week and also doing weights and eating healthier is quite a shock to the system.”
Martin, from Oak Close, Riverdene, hopes to raise £600 for the charity, and is already more than halfway to reaching his fundraising target.
