Letters to the Editor
Happy tale after two sad years
Sir.-A big thank you to Cats Protection for reuniting me with my cat after nearly two anxious years - particularly Julie, for keeping such efficient records.
Lulu, a beautiful pregnant Burmese, went missing in July 2006. I did everything in my power to find her, including contacting The Gazette, who very kindly ran a piece about my cat.
I knew she was last seen in Old Basing and I went house-to-house, armed with pictures, and put notices in shops.
Sadly, someone picked her up and took her to their home, obviously without making any enquiries.
After 20 months, the couple decided they could not keep her and put her in a temporary home - and with the help of Cats Protection, we now have her back.
Although microchipped, the cat was clearly never scanned when taken to a vet for spaying.
I was heartbroken but am now so happy to have her home.
Thank you, Cats Protection.
