Sustainable Business of the Year
Ian Crossley and Timi van Houten, from Greenhouse Graphics, go up to collect the Sustainable Business of the Year award
Ian Crossley and Timi van Houten, from Greenhouse Graphics, go up to collect the Sustainable Business of the Year award

Award sponsored by actionsustainability

THERE'S another addition to the trophy cabinet at Greenhouse Graphics.

Ian Crossley and Timi van Houten, who are the driving forces behind the Bramley-based business, received the Sustainable Business award from Russell Foster, from actionsustainability.

Mr Foster said: "We set up actionsustainability 18 months ago to train organisations to understand what the sustainability message and sustainable procurement is all about.

"If you grasp that nettle, and if you understand what it is about, and you get the ethos of sustainability and look at all aspects of your operation, it becomes an exciting new adventure and, dare I say, a necessary adventure for the future."

Mr Foster said he was astounded by the high quality of the nominations. Greenhouse Graphics certainly impressed the judges with its history of working towards sustainability by implementing a comprehensive environment policy.

It has invested in new technology, staff training and the development of its EcoPrint System4 print process.

Receiving the award, Greenhouse Graphics director Ian Crossley said: "Thanks to actionsustainability for sponsoring the award - it's good to see an environmental award at a ceremony like this one tonight.

"Obviously there is an engine room behind me - that's our staff - and I would like to thank them for their work over the last three or four years in getting a good sustainable product and good sustainable service.

"I would especially like to thank my fellow director Timi van Houten. She's really the driving force behind our sustainability initiatives and it's really down to her that we win awards like this tonight."
