AN EVENING of music at an historic venue has celebrated 25 years of St. Michael's Hospice.
More than 700 people attended the celebration event at Winchester Cathedral on Friday, 6 October where the Basingstoke Hospital Male Voice Choir and Ooh Mama Ladies Choir performing alongside the Basingstoke Heritage Light Orchestra.
Iain Cameron, deputy chief executive of the Hospice welcomed those who attended by saying: “Many things have changed in the last 25 years, but there are two key things that remain the same; the exceptional standards of care the staff provide to the patients, and the unwavering support and commitment of the community we serve, the Hospice would not exist without this.
“I know the next 25 years will bring more challenges and I am positive that with your help, we will be able to meet those challenges and continue to provide an excellent service to those who need that unique blend, of understanding, compassion and support in the future.”
To mark the 25th anniversary of the Hospice, a 25 for 25 campaign is being run where people can donate £25 easily online, in a St. Michael's store, by cheque or by texting 'SMHA25 £25' to 70070.
