A MEDIATION service has been launched by a Basingstoke charity.

Relate North Hampshire is among the first outposts of the national charity Relate to offer the service, with appointments available from this month.

The mediation offers a safe, confidential environment to make arrangements for the future following the end of a relationship.

This could be financial issues or discussions about where and with whom your children may live.

Couples in north Hampshire seeking mediation will benefit from a counselling led service that puts the importance of therapeutic care at the heart of the mediation discussions.

The Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane, Councillor Anne Court visited Relate North Hampshire, based at The Manor House, in Lutyens Close, Chineham, to find out about the new service.

Sarah Carter, centre manager, said: “We are delighted that the worshipful Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane was able to take the time to visit our centre and find out more about the much-needed counselling and new mediation service that Relate offers.”

This year the charity changed its name and launched a website.

Sarah added: “Since the new Relate North Hampshire website went live we have seen an increase in calls so it is great to know that we are reaching those across the region and that we are able to provide expert counselling services to help with relationships, when people are at a time of need.”
