The constituency is one of three covering the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, covering the more affluent south of the region. The towns of Altrincham, Bowdon, Broadheath, Hale, Mersey St. Mary's, St. Martin's, Timperley and Village wards of Trafford council are included.
The constituency includes the most expensive residential streets outside of South-East England, but despite its wealth remains ethnically diverse with its most affluent wards home to significant jewish and muslim communities.
