BASINGSTOKE railway station has got in the mood for the Royal wedding with help from local schools.
South Western Railway hosted a competition for local primary schools to create designs for commemorative royal wedding plates with over 400 entries inspired by the married couple to be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
South Western Railway invited local schools to create designs for commemorative royal wedding plates with the artwork set to be judged today ahead of the wedding tomorrow.
Jenny Keen, flagship duty station manager for South Western Railway, said: “It’s great to involve the local community and schools with this exciting project. We’ve received hundreds of entries and are looking forward to judging them and then creating the winning designs for commemorative plates.
“The designs have really brightened up the station and many passengers have commented on how pleased they are to see Basingstoke get in the mood for the royal wedding.”
