A STUDENT is off to university to follow his dream of being a computer games designer.

When Jacob Gardiner started at BCoT three years ago on a Level 2 Media course, he had no real idea where it would take him.

He had attended an open day at the college where he spoke to staff and students about the course.

Jacob describes his first year studying Level 2 Media as “learning something new and exciting every day”.

This course gave him the right skills and qualifications to progress to Level 3 Games Development.

He said: “From the very beginning, I was blown away with the technical and industry expertise of the lecturers.

“They are also incredibly patient and supportive – they will stay with you until you totally grasp something, however long it takes, some even taking time out of their personal lives to make sure you achieve the best possible results.”

He added: “It’s really down to the fantastic team of teachers at BCoT that I’m now going to the University of Bournemouth to study a degree in games technology.

“I hope this will then open the relevant doors and lead to a career in level design. I am very excited about my future, and can’t thank BCoT enough for giving me the confidence and self-belief to go down this pathway.”
