A NEW fashion course has been introduced for the start of the academic year.

One of the students who will be joining the Level 4 Diploma in Fashion Retailing class is former Level 3 ABC Fashion Retail and Business student Emily Busby, who explains why she chose to stay at the college and continue her studies.

She said: “I enjoyed my time at BCoT so much last year. The course gave me the insight and vision into where I want to take my career. Starting the new Level 4 is the next step in getting me there.”

The Level 3 Fashion Retail course offers students the chance to study fashion retail alongside the principles of business.

With the help and guidance of her lecturer Sarah Gallagher, Emily decided to progress to the newly introduced Level 4 course, which she has just started.

“This will give me a more in-depth understanding of the industry and I’m really looking forward to my work placement later in the year,” said Emily.

At the end of this month Emily and her fellow students will be attending London Fashion Weekend.

Here they’ll get the chance to explore the life of the fashion insider, watch catwalk shows from cuttingedge designers and chat with the industry’s most revered and respected.

When she completes her course, Emily is looking to take her education to the next step – university.

She is hoping to study Marketing or Events Management for Fashion at either Southampton Solent or Winchester University.

She said: “It’s a really exciting time for me – I feel like I’m taking the right steps to a career I am passionate about.”
