A PRE-SCHOOL has lost its “outstanding” rating following a visit from Ofsted.
The Saplings Pre-School, based at Burnham Copse Primary School, in Newchurch Road, Tadley, has been rated “good” in all areas in a report by the education watchdog.
Inspector Sheena Bankier said: “Staff show a good understanding of children’s progress and the next steps in learning.”
She said the pre-school is no longer outstanding because “staff do not always extend learning opportunities” and the manager does not “always focus sharply enough on what staff need to do to improve their practice to the very highest standards”.
The Saplings, which has 65 children on its roll, was graded as “outstanding” in March 2011.
